Have you ever heard about the Judgment seat of Christ? (JSC). Apostle Paul wrote to the Roman Church saying “we all shall appear before the Judgment seat of Christ, that we may receive our reward whether they are good or bad” Rom. 14:10. The Judgment seat of Christ is one the judgments of scripture that everybody is afraid of. The question is, “is this Judgment seat for everybody?” The answer is no. the Judgment seat of Christ is solely for the saints 2Cor. 5:10.

This Judgment seat is coming after the Rapture, the ungodly shall not partake in it, why? The Psalmist said “the wicked shall be turned to hell and all the nations that forget God” Ps.9:17. Thus the ungodly is the same as the wicked. All the people and all the nations which refused the entrance of the word of God into their land shall be turned to hell. God has nothing to do with those people or those nations which despised the blood of Jesus Christ and regarded it as an unholy thing.

While the saints shall be judged at the Judgment seat of Christ, which is the first Judgment to come according to Peter I Pt. 4:17, there is another Judgment seat where the ungodly or the wicked shall appear to be Judged. It is called “the great white throne Judgment” in Rev. 20:11. These two Judgment seats are coming on different platforms. We have earlier said that the Judgment seat of Christ is the first to come, and it is coming immediately after the Rapture and during the cleansing of the land. This Judgment seat is taking place in heaven during the cleansing period on earth.

But the Judgment of the great white throne is coming far away after the Millennial reign of Christ. And not only that, the last war on earth shall be fought by Jesus Christ, and when he has defeated the world and the Antichrist, he will draw all of the people, both great and small, rich and poor to this Judgment seat and Judge them. Jesus shall perform this Judgment because the father had appointed and handed over these Judgments to him Jon. 5:20-23. This is just the program.

Since Jesus shall reign for a period of a thousand years before this Judgment, the saints would have stayed up to a thousand years before it. And the saints are going to form the audience at the great white throne Judgment according to Rev. 20:1-3. Those who refuse him into their lives as Lord and Savior in the earth shall also meet him at this Judgment seat. Consider what shall happen to them.

THE FIRST JUDGMENT:
Now let’s talk about this first judgment. Apostle Peter said “Judgment shall begin at the house of God, and if it begins at us, what shall the ungodly do?” I Pt. 4:17. Earlier I said the first Judgment shall take place after the Rapture. Yes as the Church is lifted, we shall be sealed first while on the air. Read my blog on “What happens when the church is on air?” for the details of these events on air. After the sealing on air Jesus comes down and within few minutes he takes the Beast and throws him into the lake of fire with the false prophets.

Then he goes back to heaven with the saints and judges them before entertaining us at the marriage super. God drafted a good program which would take place in this world. Prophet Isaiah said “he knows the end from the beginning” Isa. 46:9-10. This means that he is the architect of this world. He is the ultimate creative intelligence, the active force behind creation. He did not capture the world from someone else, he created it and designed how and when the world would end.

This first Judgment is not going to be fearful to the saints, no. Instead it is a Judgment of taking rewards from the master. Apostle Paul explaining how it will be wrote to the Corinthian Church saying

“For other foundation can no man lay, than that is laid, that is Christ Jesus. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble: every man’s work shall be made manifest; for the day shall declare it because it shall be revealed by fire and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he had built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire” I Cor. 3:11-15 Kjv.

At the Judgment seat of Christ, quality shall be used in the rewards. He is not going to judge with long years of service but with quality on every man’s work. Those who do their work with quality materials like gold or even silver would not suffer any loss. Yet those who used precious stones in their work shall not suffer any loss also. These are strong materials which are not easily consumed by fire no matter the heat. But those who use low quality materials like wood, hay and stubble shall see their work burned at the smallest heat of fire, very sharply.

It is so because heaven is taking records of every one of us here on earth, whether we know it or not. Again the Bible is saying that every man’s work is following him. I said this Judgment seat is not fearful because once we are lifted up from the earth; we would have crossed the danger zone of this world. Any saint who is not lifted up in the Rapture should consider him/her a candidate of Hell fire.

Apostle Paul continued and said “if any man’s work burns in the fire, such person has incurred loss but his soul shall be saved, yet so as by fire”. Therefore there are people who after being in the Rapture are not left with any treasure in heaven. Such people would have received another level of God’s mercy and grace. Jesus said we should keep all our treasures in heaven where thieves do not break through and steal Matt. 6:19-20.

Satan is a thief and all his agents are robbers, because in the world they shall steal our money through window. I have earlier said that this Judgment seat is not fearful, it is the place of receiving rewards from the Lord. Apostle Paul said if any man’s work get burned he himself shall be saved but without anything. It will be as one snatched out of fire and one coming out empty handed from a raging fire. It is better for one to come of fire empty handed into the kingdom of God than for one to enter Hell fire whole.
There is a misconception in the Judgment which Paul wrote to the Church at Corinth. Almost in everything Paul was misunderstood, misinterpreted and misapplied. He said “for we must all appear before the Judgment seat of Christ: that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he had done whether it be good or bad” 2 Cor. 5:10.
This statement was misunderstood to include both believers in Christ and the ungodly, no. Paul had in mind and wrote to the Church, he did not write to people outside the Church. He had no business with people outside. He concerned himself inside the church of Christ. The recipient of his letter was not people outside the Church, no. Then the interpretation of many people that “we must all appear before the Judgment seat of Christ” included the ungodly is a wrong application of Paul’s message.
He had earlier in his first letter to this Church asked them saying “dare any of you having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? Do you not know that the saints shall Judge the world? And if the world shall be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matter? I Cor.6:1-2. This was the reason he told them in his second letter that we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. And this statement is true, not just to make them fear or afraid. We all means “the saints” not with the ungodly together, no.
Earlier Paul had written the same thing to the Church at Rome. He wrote “but why does thou judge thy brother? Or why do thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the Judgment seat of Christ” Rom.14:10. It means we should not condemn our brother’s action in any way. If anyone does wrong you can call such person privately and make your correction between you and him only, not in the congregation or where people are gathered together. So shall you restore the confidence of your brother to the Lord again. The ungodly should not hear any matter between a brother against another brother. Paul considered it an insult to our privilege that we should take one another to the law court. Instead let the saints look into it and make a good decision or give a good judgment of the matter, because the Church is addressed as a family which she really is.
But when such matters are brought before the unjust and the unjust judge looks into such matters, the saints will have to open up their secrets before the unjust judge. Even though they may give good judgments in such a matter, the saints are preferred above the unjust. The saints shall ask the Holy Spirit to help in such case/s, but the unjust have no time remembering and recognizing the presence of the Holy Spirit before going into any matter or case. The saints would always give glory to the Lord in everything.
This is why Paul advised the Church to look into any matter between one against another first and by so doing save us from exposing our secretes before the unjust. This Judgment shall take place in heaven and those who are qualified through the Rapture are all eligible. Therefore it is up to you to make sure you are found among the faithful of God.
Remember that it is not fearful, only the place of taking rewards from the Lord. Many people shall be decorated with thousand stars and multiple crowns on their head, and it shall be highly attractive. While some people may be decorated with few stars and others have no stars at all. Yes those whose work burned shall have no stars attached to their garments. It is in this judgment seat that the righteous shall shine like stars Dan. 12:3. There is no form of robbing Peter to pay Paul, no. Everyone gets what he or she worked out on the earth for the record is straight.
It is in this judgment seat that we know where everyone shall function in the millennial Government of Christ. Whatever your reward is shall determine your position. Those who did exploit for the Lord shall have an edge over those who just enjoyed their Christianity on earth without any problems. Value for work shall be used and faithfulness may come over long years of service. The Bible said he that promised is faithful, who will also do it.
